Electronic Medical Records

Electronic Medical Records provide the opportunity to have longitudinal data for a patient over a lifetime. Every person can have their own digital record which includes demographics, medical history, allergies, laboratory test results, etc. However, huge amounts of data (accumulated and stored) does not equate to understanding the meaning of those data. AI has great promise for medicine but the hype promises far more than can possibly be delivered by mid-century. It is very easy to lose sight of the individual patients’ health and the medical professionals place in care.
